The Lewiston Pistol Club has NRA certified instructors teaching the NRA Home Firearm Safety and Basic Pistol classes in Moscow and Lewiston, ID.
Either class meets the training requirements for an Idaho License to carry a concealed weapon, but we strongly urge you to use the Basic Pistol
course for this purpose. NRA certified rifle classes are also available.

The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is recommended to anyone unfamiliar with guns or who needs a very basic introduction to firearm
safety and terminology.
Students receive training and materials on the rules of safe gun handling, identifying and unloading various firearms, ammunition, cleaning, and storage.
Students will also get hands-on experience with the most common types of handguns, rifles and shotguns. (NO LIVE FIRE)

The Basic Pistol course teaches intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols,
the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, various pistol firing positions, several practical exercises on the firing range,
cleaning, storage, and a summary of pistol sports and activities. Good first course for those intending to apply for a
concealed carry permit or to participate in some shooting sport.

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun
for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual's right to self-defense.
This course satisfies the training requirements for the new Idaho enhanced concealed weapons permit.

This course introduces students to the attitude, knowledge and skills involved in safely, responsibly, and effectively employing a concealed pistol
for self defense. This is an intermediate level shooting course and not appropriate for those who have not mastered basic gun handling and shooting skills.
This course satisfies the training requirements for the new Idaho enhanced concealed weapons permit.

This is a new module designed to be an add-on to Basic Pistol that introduces the shooter to the safe use of a pistol for personal protection.
The way we offer the course it contains a segment taught by a lawyer or law enforcement officer on the legal aspects of personal defense and
it meets the enhanced permit requirements. Students who have completed Basic Pistol we will spend at least 9 hours total with at least 4 hours
on the range. 9 mm or greater and strong side holster (or purse designed to hold a firearm) is required.

The Lewiston Pistol Club is also pleased to offer United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Range Officer and
Chief Range Officer certification courses.
Next course date: TBA
Certified by NROI, Range Officers perform most of the officiating seen at a USPSA match. They carry the timer, check equipment,
score targets, and help make sure the competitor competes in a safe manner.
- No prior experience required, but student MUST BE a member of USPSA prior to class. (Can join at seminar)
